Jim Bakkum, 23, and Bettina Holwerda, 32, were married yesterday in the Vondelkerk (Vondel church) in Amsterdam. The Dutch singer and musical actor, who shot to fame in the Netherlands after coming in second in the first Dutch edition of Idols in 2002/2003, and the musical actress have been together since 2007. They met whilst performing in the musical Grease (he was Danny, she was Sandy) and got a relationship shortly after the 'Grease car' fell off stage, causing Bettina to break her arm.In September 2010 Jim proposed during a holiday in Hawaii.

Jim wore a black suit and Bettina wore a strapless dress by Dutch designer Addy van den Krommenacker. After the ceremony the newlyweds drove off in a white Porsche convertible.

The couple tried to keep their wedding location a secret, but a few paps hunted down the location and waited outside. They weren't amused, but didn't let their day be ruined by it (luckily). This morning Jim tweeted "I think that this is old news by now, but we are married! What a wonderful day, that ring is on my finger and it's there to stay!"
